On Friday, August 13 at the Grassy Church, we will be having a special hot dog sale. The dinner will include two hot dogs, potato salad, chips, and a dessert for $5.00. The church kitchen will be open for people to eat in or we will offer delivery in the Pikeville area at no extra charge.
The dinner will be from 11am to 5pm. To pre-order dinners call Gary Coleman at 433-1131 or Emery Slone at 432-2948. If you wish to order a dinner on the day of the sale, please call the church at 437-7289.
The proceeds will go toward purchasing a new flag pole for the church. We will be displaying the American flag as well as the Christian flag. Our goal is to have the new flag pole and flags installed before October. We will then be having a special flag ceremony sometime in the future. Everyone will be invited to attend.
We would also like to take this opportunity to invite you out to Sunday school at 9:45 am and church worship at 11:00 am each Sunday morning. Again, if you have any questions call Emery Slone at 432-2948 or Gary Coleman at 433-1131.

Christian activities specially designed for students in grades K-6 !
Students will earn points for prizes/rewards, learn Bible lessons, and participate in crafts and games.
Back to School Bash
On Friday, August 13, Teens for Christ and GYM (Grassy Youth Ministries) will host a Back To School Bash for all students in grades K-12. This activity will be begin at 6:30pm.
This will be an evening of fun, games, food and prizes! The first 25 students to arrive AND register will receive a free “goody bag” of school supplies and prizes. Some other activities will include: Who Wants to be a “Candy-aire”?, the Limbo, Musical Chairs, Human Knots, and other fun games!
So, if you are in grades K-12, please plan on celebrating the start of a new school year with us here at Grassy Freewill Baptist. You can even bring your parents if you want to!

2004 Octoberfest Date Set
Grassy FWB Sunday School is pleased to host our third annual Octoberfest on October 9 in the church parking lot.
Opening ceremony will begin at noon with the raising of the flag. Special activities and games will continue until 4:00 pm. Singing will be provided by Green and Ruby Adkins and family. Also, an “open mike” time will be made available for all who would like to sing.
The theme of Octoberfest will be a continuation from VBS–“Under God’s Big Top.” Plans are not finalized, but we hope to have Leo the Lion and Connie Crocodile join us on the parking lot. Group games will be conducted by Ringmaster Greg.
As part of Octoberfest, we will look back into the past by remembering our one room schools on Raccoon, particularly Frozen Creek School. We will also acknowledge the career of our teacher, Mrs. Brown, who taught at Frozen School before consolidation around 1966.
All the singing food, prizes, and games are free for all to enjoy. Mark your calendar and plan to attend our third annual Octoberfest.
