If you missed the production of Grassy Freewill Baptist’s drama, “Heaven’s Gates or Hell’s Fury” in March, you have another opportunity to view this stirring dramatization of the Judgment Day! Due to public request, “Heaven’s Gates” will be performed again on April 17 at 7 pm.
Do you ever wonder what will happen after you take your final breath? This play explores just that topic. Imagine being granted access to a wonderful worry-free heaven OR being cast into Satan’s fiery hell. Both scenarios are played out as everyday, common people meet their end. What would happen to you if today were YOUR Judgment Day?

Easter
Easter has become one of the most noted holidays today. However, many of the traditions observed, such as Easter eggs and bunnies, are not Biblically based. These traditions have become so commercialized that we sometimes lose sight of the real meaning of Easter.
The real ideas and feelings that people have about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ differ because each person and his experiences are different. For example, if we have experienced sharp, throbbing pain from a broken bone, a toothache, or arthritis we know what some pain feels like. But, thank God we can go to a doctor or dentist and hopefully find some relief. Jesus didn’t. He chose not to find relief. Just think of how much love Christ had for us when he suffered agonizing pain on the cross. We should all feel so unworthy.
Many people have tried to express the pain Christ suffered. Mel Gibson’s production of The Passion of the Christ was emotional and touching, but even that could not be a complete portrayal of His death. For a better understanding of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ read Matthew 26-28.
Come and join us for Easter Sunrise Service as we honor Christ in song, prayer, and worship on April 11, 2004 at 6:00 am. We will also have our regular Easter service at 11:00 am.
Ladies Auxiliary Plans Dinners
The Grassy Freewill Baptist Ladies’ Auxiliary will be busy, busy, busy in May! On Tuesday, May 18 at 7 pm, the ladies will be having a Mother/Daughter Banquet in honor of Mother’s Day. All ladies are invited to attend–bring your mother, daughter, or friend AND a potluck dish.
Also, the ladies are having a fundraising dinner on Friday, May 7. The ladies will serve spaghetti, salad, bread, and desert from 11am to 7 pm in the church kitchen. Carryout dinners will be available. Each dinner is $5.00. Call the church or Sue Charles (754-4687) when ordering several dinners for carryout. The money will help fund the “Crusade in the Mountains” and the ladies auxiliary. Come and enjoy a good homecooked meal and fellowship!
