Octoberfest
Grassy Freewill Baptist Parking Lot
12 noon–4:30pm
Fellowship!! Fun!! Games!! Food!!
Tricycles and Bicycles will awarded as prizes!!
Everyone Invited!!
**All activities are free–games, prizes, food, etc.
At noon, on Saturday October 6, Grassy Sunday School’s “communication network” WFOM (We’re Fishers of Men–Matt. 4:19) will come on the air as we kick off our sixth annual Octoberfest. Expect some great music, fun games, and much laughter to be heard while “on the air!”
We will have a special opening program at noon honoring God and country and thanking God for providing for us with abundance. We will also recognize two organizations in our community that make the area safer–Neighborhood Watch and the Johns Creek Fire Department. Also, for the first time, we will be presenting good citizenship awards to two citizens who epitomize the spirit of service to their community.
The Johns Creek Fire Department is planning on having a fire truck available for the children to examine. They will also have children’s fire helmets (while supplies last) and other fire-fighting equipment available to see.
After the program, lunch will be provided and then the games begin. Be prepared for a fun-filled afternoon. Octoberfest is free and everyone is encouraged to attend.
Please plan to attend this fun-filled day with your family!

Playin’ Games
Each year at Octoberfest, it always seems that we have more games planned than time permits. Nevertheless, we have tried to outdo ourselves yet again! Some of the planned games and activities include:
Limbo, Musical Chairs, Sack Race, Three-legged Race, Water Relay, Duck Race, Hula-hoop Contest, Tug-of-war, “The Price Is Right,” Face Painting, Drop the Handkerchief, Hog Callin’, Cake Walk, and I Want My Mummy.
Remembering our heritage, the first ever basketball shootout will be held between Goff School and Frozen Creek. People who could have been students at these schools will face off at center court!
Everyone is encouraged to participate in as many games as possible. Everyone participating will help the day be memorable for all of us!!
Octoberfest Personalities Return
Once again, Greg Bentley will be providing music and directing the games at Octoberfest. Greg’s contribution to this annual event has helped make each one special. This year, look for Greg’s version of America’s favorite game show–“The Price Is Right.” Come and see if he shouldn’t be the next Bob Barker!!
Look for another favorite person when you first enter the parking lot. No doubt you’ll see Kevin Thacker with our guest book. Make sure you stop to sign the book. Also, Kevin serves as “ticketmaster” each year. All children under 18 years old need to see Kevin for their free ticket for our prizes. Two 26", 24", and 20" bicycles will be given away at the day’s end, as well as two tricycles.
